Clarus Releases Important Announcements

B2B e-commerce solution provider Clarus Corporation yesterday unveiled ClarusNet, an offering of trading services designed to empower any B2B trading platform.

Launched yesterday at the Clarus eC Leadership Conference in Orlando, the company believes ClarusNet will fill an existing gap in the B2B marketplace.

ClarusNet will provide open trading services for critical trading service: Supplier Enablement, Content Management, Settlement, Auctioning, Logistics, Wireless, Integration and Analytics..

Steve Jeffery, president, chairman and chief executive officer, said ClarusNet is the nest step in B2B and a natural evolution from eProcurement and digital marketplace applications.

“Clarus takes a first mover position in delivering trading services which make a marketplace truly operational, open and interoperable with other B2B marketplaces,” he said.

Jeffery believes this is essential as customers have come to see that application platforms are just the beginning and that key trading services are what will deliver on the vision and value of B2B e-commerce.

As one of the three vendors that worked closely with Microsoft on application hosting pilots, Clarus Corporation has a number of ASPs signed up to host their procurement apps and see hosting as a central part of their strategy.

In related news, Clarus Corporation also announced yesterday ClarusMobile, its B2B wireless offering.

According to the company, ClarusMobile will enable the purchase of goods and services, placement of bids and acting on approval requests through mobile phones, PDAs and pocket PCs.

The company claims these capabilities will be integrated with the Clarus eMarket and eProcurement trading platforms by third quarter.

ClarusMobile will provide access to more than 100 content providers including Reuters and Bloomberg, offered as a trading service through ClarusNet to any B2B trading platform.

Through this service, organizations can offer ancillary services with their B2B trading platform, creating a portal destination, complimenting their business offerings.

Jeffery commented on the importance of this technology. “Wireless capabilities present the next paradigm shift in B2B.”

As part of the SAI/Redeo Technologies acquisition announced last week, Clarus also acquired i2Mobile.com and its wireless domain expertise and capabilities.
