Digital River Gets Sporty Deal

Digital River, Inc. , a Minneapolis-based e-commerce enabler, today announced it has integrated its products and services into a newly launched e-commerce site for sports watch manufacturer, Freestyle.

Under the agreement, Digital River is providing Freestyle transaction management, customer service, fraud screening and physical product fulfillment for the www.freestyleusa.com Web site.

“We are pleased to be working with Freestyle to provide the company with a reliable and cost-effective e-commerce system,” said Digital River’s CEO Joel Ronning.

“Freestyle is representative of the growing number of manufacturers that are leveraging the Internet to complement their brick-and-mortar sales channels in innovative ways and create enhanced customer experiences. We believe manufacturers will continue to move in this direction as organic growth on the Internet accelerates.”

The site, targeted at core-action sports riders, fitness enthusiasts and outdoor athletes, is designed to make online shopping easier, allowing customers to view the features of the watches which are built for all-terrain use on land, water and snow.

“From the time we began working with Digital River, the company has been proactive in helping us integrate its e-commerce system with our main Web site,” said Monique Evans, Freestyle’s marketing manager.

“Our customers no longer have to jump through hoops in order to purchase products. Customers can now purchase products directly from the product pages, dramatically improving their online experience.”
