In a move to take advantage of the ASP delivery model, interBiz yesterday announced it will offer the company’s applications to the outsourcing marketplace through the newly created interBiz Online Group.
interBiz is the new eBusiness applications division of Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) , provider of mission-critical business solutions. In addition to its Online Group, interBiz offers the following product groups: Banking, Financial and Supply Chain.
interBiz was founded on the concept of being able to empower a new generation of business leaders using a higher form of intelligence. The Online Group is a comprehensive program that allows companies of all types to outsource mission-critical business application IT functions and access interBiz’s advanced line of business applications from its product groups through flexible application hosting options.
Currently, the program consists of three basic models of hosting relationships, two of which were announced yesterday.
interBureau hit the market last year in response to clients’ searches for revenue-generating services. It is a model based on the premise that the client or partner ASP hosts interBiz applications for their third-party customers.
New to the model line-up is iBizPartner, a model similar to interBureau. But iBizPartner relies on interBiz to act as the host of applications on behalf of a partner, and the partner maintains the complete relationship with the end-user.
iBizDirect, also announced yesterday, is a model in which interBiz hosts the application on behalf of the institution. iBizDirect provides a corporation the flexibility to utilize interBiz business application with Web access, without requiring an IT infrastructure.
interBiz Online Group is working with companies from a variety of industries, including Active ISP, a Norwegian ISP that offers Internet and Web services to small-and medium-sized companies standardized on Microsoft NT and SQL Server. Active ISP will offer Masterpiece/Net to its customers via the Internet hosted through interBureau.
“Our goal is to expand our Web offering to our client base,” Espen Haaksonson, vice president of product development, Active ISP, said. “interBiz offers a system and strategy which are ideally suited to the growing number of companies wishing to use the Internet functionality as part of their company infrastructure.”
