OpenService, Response Networks Merge


Network security management firm OpenService, Inc., and Response Networks, Inc., are merging under the OpenService name. The merger adds the Alexandria, Va.-based Response’s application performance analysis and historic reporting capabilities to OpenService’s threat and incident correlation solutions. The merged company will be headquartered in OpenService’s Westborough, Mass., offices.


Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Powered by NerveCenter, a widely deployed event correlation engine with an extensive comprehensive Fortune 500 customer base that includes Citigroup, Bear Stearns, AOL, Virtela Communications and Verizon, organizations will be able to analyze and diagnose security and network events in real time.


By combining SystemWatch’s real-time security data management agent with NerveCenter’s native network capabilities and Response Networks’ application performance and service level management solutions, customers will be able to control their IT infrastructure, manage security risks and take advantage of the new company’s enhanced reporting capabilities.

In addition to its Alexandria headquarters, Response Networks has offices in North Andover, Mass., and has both a direct sales force and distributors throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia.
