SevenSpace, a Chantilly, Va.-based Enterprise Managed Services Provider (MSP), yesterday announced the integration of its services with Los Angeles, Calif.-based StrataSource Inc., the MSP it acquired in September, 2001.
The result of the intergration is the launch of a new suite of outsourced applications and infrastructure management offerings to help enterprises maximize returns on IT investments.
“Our acquisition of StrataSource expanded our ability to provide an even more comprehensive suite of application management services and deliver added flexibility and affordability to our customers,” says Peter Weber, president and CEO of SevenSpace.
SevenSpace says the expanded suite of services, designed for companies that have already invested in existing applications or are investing in the development of new applications, offer flexible management and monitoring services at reduced costs for improving both the performance and security.
According to Brian Winter, vice president of business development for SevenSpace some of the services are new and other have been repackaged to better fit customer needs, allowing the firm to work more closely with a CIO so services can be tailored.
“The number of complex applications and systems being implemented within enterprises are increasing. Therefore, the need for focused, in-depth management of the infrastructure and applications is essential to business success,” says Corey Ferengul, senior program director, at IT research and consulting firm META Group.
“Through outsourcing infrastructure and application management to an MSP, enterprises are able to decrease overhead costs of staff and software and see a faster return on investment than if they attempted to implement management themselves,” he adds.
Jeff Seargeant, manager, Technology Systems for ShipChem, a logistics solution provider for the chemical industry, says the firm works with SevenSpace because of its ability to operate within ShipChem’s exisiting framework:
“SevenSpace allows us to pinpoint and address specific areas of concern without paying for services or new infrastructure we don’t need. Our environment is extremely complex, and SevenSpace’s expertise, technology and processes enable us to achieve performance benefits beyond what we could have done on our own,” he explains.
The expanded suite of services now include:
-
SevenSpace Management & Monitoring Services — Offering performance monitoring and management that measures performance of hardware, operating system, database and application. The service includes change management support, inventory tracking comprehensive reporting, notification when relevant patches are required and administrative support for all components in a customer’s infrastructure.
