Seattle’s Aventail Corporation has named Jeff Scheel as Vice President of Business Development.
Scheel will be responsible for all co-selling, co-marketing and technology alliances that enhance the company’s Aventail.Net managed service offering.
Scheel brings to Aventail more than 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, OEM/channel management, business development and alliances. As a member of Aventail’s advisory board prior to taking this position, Scheel has gained a deep understanding of the Aventail.Net service and the marketplace it is offered in.
According to Aventail’s President and CEO Evan Kaplan, Aventail’s customers look to Aventail to help provide them with a complete solution that addresses their ongoing access infrastructure needs on top of Aventail’s core software platform. “Jeff’s focus on finding and securing strategic partners will allow Aventail to continue to enhance the Aventail.Net service to meet evolving customer needs,” says Kaplan.
Before his work with Aventail, Scheel held several executive positions at Siebel Systems where he managed a number of global alliance relationships as well as teams focused on vertical markets, online, and OEM business development initiatives.
Before joining Siebel, Scheel spent several years at Oracle Corporation where he managed global OEM sales relationships with companies such as HP and SGI. He has also held positions at AskJeeves, Metropolis Software (now part of Clarify, Inc.), MTEL Corporation, Go Corporation, Texas Instruments, and Silicon Graphics. Scheel is a graduate of Stanford University with an MBA from Harvard Business School.
