internet.com Wednesday joined with Dice.com to roll out Career Channel, a vertical
content network focused on employment opportunities for Internet and IT
professionals.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The alliance with
Dice.com is a result of internet.com’s purchase of 14 Web site and 18 e-mail
newsletters from EarthWeb last December.
The launch of Career Channel will leverage the synergies between the two
organizations while raising capital, according to Alan Meckler, CEO of
internet.com. “Our new Career Channel will efficiently deliver qualified,
job-seeking IT professionals to Dice.com and is another valuable service
provider to our user audience.”
Job listings will be presented on a local, regional, national basis,
Meckler added. The channel includes listings from Boston; Washington, D.C.;
Seattle, Silicon Valley and Silicon Alley.
The vertical content channel will additionally provide InternetCareerResources, a
site designed for job seekers.
internet.com, a provider of real-time news and information resources, is
parent company of this Web site; Dice.com is a provider of online career
management services to IT professionals nationwide. The Career Channel site
will debut in February.
