Zend Technologies – a company that bills itself as ‘the’ PHP Company has been acquired by Rogue Wave Software for an undisclosed amount. The timing of the acquisition is just a few short weeks before the PHP 7.0 release which should serve to dramatically accelerate PHP performance.
“When we founded Zend, we set out to make it easier for developers to use PHP to meet the demands of business development,” Zend CEO and Co-Founder Andi Gutmans said. “We’re very happy to have a great match with Rogue Wave, from our shared commitment to customers and how we impact their software development lifecycle.”
Rogue Wave is a name that is not entirely unfamiliar to open-source developers. In 2013, Rogue Wave acquired open-source services and support vendor OpenLogic.
