, a provider of software and services for smart devices in the
Internet age, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to
acquire Rapid Logic, a provider of advanced device management
technologies for networking equipment and other intelligent devices. The Rapid Logic acquisition enables Wind River to offer a wider range of
integrated, embedded networking
technologies to developers of sophisticated
data networking and telecommunications equipment, such as Ethernet
switches, IP routers, access concentrators, optical switches, and xDSL
systems. Wind River will acquire Rapid Logic for a total of 1,429,698
shares of Wind River stock and the acquisition will be accounted for as a
purchase transaction.

announced the closing of the merger between FuelQuest and
Oilspot.com to create a powerhouse e-commerce and infrastructure
solution downstream petroleum industry. FuelQuest provides suppliers, marketers
and commercial, industrial, and retail end users of fuels, lubricants and
specialty chemicals a hosted private, B2B e-marketplace and back-office
solution, while Oilspot.com is an
e-commerce solution for the lubricants industry through its private vendor
catalogs and exchange solutions for petroleum marketers. The new entity
will retain the name of FuelQuest. Terms of the merger between the two
closely held companies were not disclosed.

leading online companies are joining forces with two traditional
distribution operations. eChips Inc. will be launched as a result of a

Arrow Electronics’ Advantage business unit and
Avnet Production Supplies and Test Equipment business unit. eChips
aims to be a new and independent sales and marketing channel serving the
