BOSTON — Birdstep Technology and TerraWave Solutions have teamed up to provide wireless LAN infrastructure software to Wi-Fi resellers.
Under the agreement, which was announced Thursday at the 802.11 Planet Conference and Expo here, TerraWave will distribute Birdstep’s IP Zone Server and Intelligent Mobile IP Client to resellers deploying wireless networks for Internet service providers and hotspot operators.
“We have established partnerships to distribute best-of-breed Wi-Fi infrastructure, security, management and diagnostic technologies, and the addition of Birdsteps software fulfills a vital component of a total Wi-Fi solution by incorporating additional mobility and wireless access controls for our reseller channel,” said Chris Marco, president of TerraWave Solutions.
Birdstep’s software is designed to secure and significantly increase the mobility of a Wi-Fi network in both public and corporate environments. The company said its IP Zone Server allows system integrators to deploy and maintain wireless access solutions, while the Intelligent Mobile IP Client connects users across different types of network infrastructures.
