At DealTime, They’re Dealing

Just in time to catch the serious holiday buyer, shopping search and compare operation DealTime scored a pact with EarthLink that makes it the power behind the ISP’s shopping channel.

The deal calls for New York City-based DealTime to provide Atlanta-based EarthLink with a customized, co-branded version of its shopping service. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

The co-branded service, available here, will allow EarthLink visitors to compare products and prices at more than 1,300 stores in DealTime’s network.

Separately, DealTime expanded its network through an agreement with Monterey, Calif.-based Altura International, on behalf of its flagship shopping portal, CatalogCity.com, which aggregates catalog shopping opportunities from brands such as Hammacher Schlemmer, Fisher Price, Harry and David, Oreck, and others.

DealTime said the alliance expands its shopping base by 420 merchants.

CatalogCity.com was founded in 1997, and partially funded by Microsoft’s Bill Gates. Amazon.com invested in the parent company about a year ago.

DealTime is a privately held company, venture-backed by partners including Bertelsmann, AOL Time Warner, Bank of America, Bain Capital and Singapore Telecom.
