Web conferencing has proved useful to enterprises looking to save on travel expenses or finding new ways to improve collaboration and teamwork on projects. Adobe is one of several companies, including Cisco (WebEx), Citrix (GoToMeeting) and others, vying for a bigger share of the enterprise market where interest in collaboration solutions is bigger than ever. As Datamation reports, Adobe is looking to up the ante with the introduction of Adobe Connect 8, the latest version of its Web conferencing software designed for the enterprise. New features include an SDK for developers and a simpler user interface, streamlined to speed the time it takes to join and participate in Web meetings.
The latest version of Adobe’s Connect conferencing software for the enterprise, released Monday, has features designed to make starting and joining an online conference easier and accessible to more users, including those with mobile devices.
“It’s a very clean interface for users to get up to speed very quickly. We did a lot of user testing to get it right,” Adobe Connect evangelist Peter Ryce told InternetNews.com. “We’re seeing greater adoption by knowledge workers in the enterprise with Connect becoming a core productivity solution inside and outside the firewall.”
